Emirates now promises ‘unlimited’ caviar in First Class

Emirates’ signature caviar service is one of the true highlights of flying First Class. So why limit yourself to just one helping? From now on, Emirates is promising First Class flyers unlimited caviar. So go on, you’ve earned it!

The caviar boost comes as part of a new US$2 billion investment by Emirates in the passenger experience. It also brings a new ‘Cinema in the Sky’ dining service to First Class. Travellers in all cabin classes can also look forward to updated inflight menus, taking flight by September.

Emirates is also retrofitting its new Premium Economy cabin onto more than 120 aircraft.

Updates to Emirates’ inflight dining

With a sharp focus on local produce, Emirates’ inflight menus are in for a spruce-up. On flights from Dubai, travellers can dine on sustainably-grown greens from Bustanica: the world’s largest vertical farm.

In First Class, the new cinema snack menu serves up favourites like salted popcorn – naturally, whenever it suits you. Other bite-sized treats to enjoy with your movie include lobster rolls, sliders and edamame. And of course, if you fancy more caviar, just use the phone in your suite to call ‘room service’.

Other new dishes in First Class include pan-fried salmon trout with moqueca sauce and creole rice, and roasted duck breast with orange thyme jus, steamed broccolini and fondant potatoes. These will be available on selected routes, and are designed to deliver ‘the best fine dining experience in the sky.’

Fancy another serve of caviar? Easily done.

Dining in Business and Economy Class also gets a refresh from 1 September 2022. Beyond simply updating the inflight menu, Emirates is adding a new vegan menu. The airline says it’s ‘carefully curated to cater to the growing numbers of customers pursuing this thoughtful lifestyle.’

Among the fresh choices: pan-roasted king oyster mushrooms, flavoursome jackfruit biryani and sliced kohlrabi garnished with burnt orange. Other plant-based dishes will also be available to pre-order across all cabin classes.

Emirates Premium Economy rollout

With Premium Economy now available on selected Emirates flights from Sydney, the airline will make the cabin available across a wider variety of aircraft and routes. This will see Emirates retrofitting Premium Economy seats onto many of its existing jets.

All told, Emirates will have 120 aircraft equipped with Premium Economy once this rollout is complete. Travellers can then expect to find Premium Economy available to a wider variety of destinations: and perhaps, on other routes from Australia.

The first aircraft to be refitted with Premium Economy will get those seats in November 2022. Until then, Premium Economy remains available on a small number of Emirates’ newest planes, which were delivered fresh to the airline with Premium Economy seats already installed.

Emirates Premium Economy offers extra comforts over Economy, but without the Business Class price tag.

The aircraft refitted with Premium Economy will also gain more subtle refreshes in First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. This includes new or reupholstered seats, as well as new panelling and flooring.

Summing up

Emirates is spending some serious coin upgrading the inflight experience for travellers across all cabins. But particularly so in First Class, with as much caviar as you can eat!

The broader rollout of Premium Economy also makes this better-than-Economy option available to a wider number of travellers. For those looking for a more comfortable experience but without the budget (or points balance) of Business Class, Premium Economy fits the bill.

It’ll be interesting to see where these Premium Economy seats appear across Emirates’ network: and of course, when they’ll debut on more flights from Australia to Dubai and beyond.
