Perth’s Ayre Hair launches Priority Pass partnership
You could soon be adding a pre-flight massage to your travel checklist.
What we'll be covering
How does an express massage before your next Qantas or Jetstar flight from Perth sound?
Ayre Hair has signed on the dotted line with Priority Pass to become Australia’s first non-lounge airport experience for members, outside of food and dining. Passengers with Priority Pass membership or single-use passes (often included with selected credit cards) can use their visits for a 20-minute massage, plus a complimentary beer or wine.
Ayre Hair, an express blow dry bar in Perth Airport’s Terminal 4, has already proven to be a hit with passengers who can take advantage of spare time at the airport to indulge in a haircut or treatment.
This is especially welcome news for those with unlimited Priority Pass memberships (except from American Express). After all, who wouldn’t want to enjoy some preflight pampering whenever they fly?
What you get at Ayre Hair with Priority Pass
With a Priority Pass visit, you can enjoy a 20-minute massage out of these options, valued at $45:
- Seated massage: head, neck, shoulder, foot, hand and arm
- Saddle seat massage: leg, back or lower
- Plus one complimentary glass of wine or beer, per adult
As Ayre Hair is located landside in the Qantas terminal (T4), this offer is best suited for passengers departing on Qantas or Jetstar flights in the T3/T4 precinct. But there’s nothing stopping you from indulging in a massage before a flight from T1 or T2 – you just need to already have a boarding pass (i.e. from online check-in) and ensure you have enough time to change terminals via the transfer bus.
Priority Pass recommends you book in advance by texting or calling +61 432 064 897 or emailing [email protected]. Timeslots may be limited and you might miss out if you don’t book.
However, those with Priority Pass memberships via American Express Cards won’t be able to use their benefits at Ayre Hair as Amex blocks non-lounge experiences for its Card Members. You won’t see Ayre Hair pop up as an eligible option through your Priority Pass app.
For all other members and those with single-use visit passes, you should be able to use them at Ayre Hair before an onward flight. Just note the T&Cs, which say you can only redeem one visit every 24 hours, and use no more than one card per guest per visit (in case you have multiple Priority Pass memberships).
Discovering Ayre Hair’s other treatments
Ayre Hair’s service menu, which you can browse and reserve online, includes express facials, manicures, make-up, massages and more. But Ayre Hair’s speciality is, unsurprisingly, focused on your luscious locks. There are five signature packages plus colouring and men’s barber options.
With my hair recently trimmed, I sample a facial instead. It’s a very relaxing affair and my skin (which I usually neglect) has never felt better. Meditative music floods my ears through the provided noise-cancelling headphones. Nearby, other guests enjoy massages, freshly painted nails, a complete hair wash and a blow-dry.
Ayre Hair is currently located landside in the Qantas Domestic Terminal (T4), opposite the check-in area. The owner, Hannah, tells Point Hacks she’s also looking to expand Ayre Hair’s presence in Perth. Her sights are set on a space in Terminal 1 – either airside in the Virgin Australia terminal or landside in the international departures area.
