Although not one of Point Hacks’ most covered reward programs, we thought it important to give you a heads up on some changes to the Diners Club Rewards program from June 1st.
Via Australian Business Traveller the main casualties of Diners Rewards changes coming in are American Airlines AAdvantage, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Starwood Preferred Guest and Hyatt Gold Passport.
The beneficiaries are those with Cathay and Etihad Guest accounts, which see those frequent flyer programs added as transfer partners.
Partners getting the cut
It’s really unfortunate to see the list of unique partners that Diners Rewards had previously being gutted as this was a unique differentiator of the program that made up for any annoyances around perceived limited acceptance of the card by retailers.
