I joined Priority Privilege in early June last year, and I’ve used it sporadically over the course of the last 12 months.
You’re probably not aware, but it’s a paid up membership scheme that gives members a series of vouchers to use for significant discounts on stays at hotels in the InterContinental Hotels Group (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and InterContinental hotels), across Australia, NZ and some other countries across Asia/Pacific, including Fiji and China.
My membership year has almost run its course; I’m not planning on any more stays that would make use of it, so I thought I’d wrap up with a post outlining the savings I made from being a member.
Here’s what I used, and saved:
InterContinental Adelaide
2 nights for price of 1 certificate | $355 |
$50 hotel credit voucher | $50 |
Breakfast for 2 certificate | $60 |
Crowne Plaza Newcastle
2 nights for price of 1 newsletter offer | $260 |
50% off dining for two | $21 |
InterContinental Sydney
10% off advance purchase rate | $25 |
Savings | $771 |
Cost of membership | $289 |
Total Saving | $482 |
Even though I only had 3 IHG stays, I still managed to save nearly $500, and ensured I felt OK with spending more to have larger, more comfortable rooms, which ultimately improved my stays in these 3 hotels.
To be honest I’d hoped to use the scheme more. I still have a handful unused certificates, as trips I’d planned to the IC Fiji and IC Wellington didn’t come to pass. Such is life.
However, my ‘loss’ is your gain – I’d like to give these vouchers away to readers of the blog – just post a comment saying which of the following vouchers you’d like, and its yours. One per reader only, and first come, first served.
Up for grabs are…
- 25% off Best Flexible Rate Certificate (rate code IDPMC, see below on how to use)
- Stay 2 nights for the Price of 1 Certificate (note 7 day advance reservation needed, rate code IDPBG)
- 2 x Member for a Visit Dining Certificate*
All the vouchers I’m giving away are transferable (i.e. you don’t need to be a member to use them) but expire on 15th June, so have to be used by then. I’ll post out by regular mail ASAP.
*Entitles bearer to 25% off a meal for one, 50% off meals for two, 33% off meals for 3, etc.
You can check rates and make reservations on the main Priority Club website for Priority Privilege reservations, without being a member, by adding in specific rate codes to the booking engine as I’ve previously outlined here.
Will I renew my membership for next year? Nope, not unless I am definitely going for an extended stay somewhere expensive, like the InterContinental Fiji for example.
Doesn’t surprise me they wouldn’t refund you – the PP customer service is a bit woeful and they are very aggressive at harassing you to renew your membership too.
Do you still have a Member for a Visit Dining Certificate left?
Much appreciated!
George
Could I please have the 25% off best flex rate cert?
Thanks. Much appreciated!
Is pp club still available, please?
