From October 2024, American Airlines will begin its new direct flight between its largest hub, Dallas Fort Worth, and Brisbane. This is the airline’s second Australian service after its Sydney to Los Angeles route.

The addition of this route means passengers can now fly from Brisbane to over 100 destinations throughout the US with only one stop.

This seasonal nonstop flight is the longest in the American Airlines network, clocking in at around 15 hours.

The timing of American Airlines’ new route to Australia coincides with the unveiling of its new Boeing 787-9 Business Class product, Flagship Suites. Passengers flying between Brisbane and Dallas Fort Worth will be among the first to enjoy this reimagined cabin. The 51 Flagship Suite seats feature privacy doors, chaise lounge seating and in-flight service enhancements. Premium Economy is also available on this route, with 32 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration.

Thanks to its partnership with American Airlines, Qantas Frequent Flyers can earn Qantas Points and Status Credits on eligible flights with an ‘AA’ flight number. The joint network covers over 200 destinations in the US – with increased accessibility from Brisbane.

In addition to Brisbane, American Airlines has also announced new international routes from Dallas Fort Worth to Rio de Janeiro and Veracruz. The Los Angeles-Auckland seasonal service will also commence earlier, featuring Flagship Suites on the Boeing 787-9.
