QF35 is one of Qantas’ two daily flights from Melbourne to Singapore. The daytime flight takes just under eight hours, and will have you touching down in Singapore the same day – plenty of time for a night cap or a snooze before you begin your Singapore holiday.
Here’s what to expect when flying with Qantas on QF35 to Singapore.
QF35 flight time
Qantas’ QF35 flight has a daily scheduled departure of 12:10 pm from Terminal 2 of Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport. The total flight clocks in at 7 hours and 55 minutes, arriving into Singapore’s Changi Airport at 5 pm local time. The timing of the flight is ideal – for starters, there’s no nasty early morning wake-up for a dash to the airport. And if you manage to zip through passport control in Singapore swiftly, you’ll be eating to your heart’s content at one of the many hawker stalls by dinnertime.
Many oneworld airlines have flights departing Singapore late in the evening. So if you’ve got a connecting flight, you’ll have ample hours up your sleeve for a leisurely stroll through The Jewel (don’t forget to allow enough time to clear immigration!)
QF35 aircraft type and seating
Qantas flight QF35 is serviced by an Airbus A330 with two cabin classes – Business and Economy.
Business Class on QF35
Business Class passengers bound for Singapore from Melbourne onboard QF35 have a selection of 28 seats over seven rows. The 1-2-1 layout means each seat has direct aisle access, so there are options for those flying solo or travelling as a pair.
It may be a daytime flight, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t indulge in the 80-inch flatbed on offer. If you prefer to be upright to peruse the in-flight entertainment, you’ll have a roomy 23 inches of seat width to enjoy.

Economy Class on QF35
QF35’s Economy Class cabin has 243 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration, meaning at most you’re only one seat away from an aisle. On this daytime flight, the seats have a 17.2 inch width and 32 inches of pitch, plus a six-inch recline to help you get cosy. Note that seats in the exit rows – that’s 23 and 44 – have fixed armrests, so you’ll gain extra legroom but lose a tiny bit of seat width.
Each passenger has access to an individual USB-A socket, and shared universal AC sockets can be found between seats, so you can power up your device before you land. Under the 13-inch HD touchscreen, there’s a small pocket to store your essentials during the flight.

Booking QF35 using points
Got some Qantas Points up your sleeve? Here’s how many you’ll need to book a Classic Reward seat from Melbourne to Singapore.
Economy | Business | |
Melbourne to Singapore | 25,200 | 68,400 |
The points required for a Classic Reward seat are always a fixed value. Anything greater than the totals we’ve outlined above is a Points + Pay seat. This is poor value for your points as it’s the cash fare of the flight converted to points.
Reward seats can disappear quickly, especially on popular routes like Melbourne to Singapore. But Qantas Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers can request reward seats to be released on Qantas-operated flights.
And if you’re still struggling to find seats on this – or any – route, Point Hacks Concierge can help. Our expert team takes the hard work out of finding reward seats, allowing you to fly in luxury for less.
