Elusive Business Rewards to Europe are now easier to book with Qantas Points, thanks to a new Middle Eastern airline partner joining the ranks. Although Oman Air’s entry into oneworld is delayed, Qantas and Oman Air are launching a new partnership that’s now serving up fresh Economy and Business rewards across more than 40 destinations.

Business Studio (Oman Air’s equivalent of First Class) redemptions with Qantas Points are set to land in early 2025. Qantas Loyalty CEO, Andrew Glance, says Oman Air is an ‘impressive airline’ with ‘a premium offering that rivals any international carrier’.

“We know how much our members love to use their points to book international reward seats, with record numbers redeemed in the last twelve months. The partnership with Oman Air is an exciting expansion to the program and will unlock tens of thousands of reward seats to places like London, Paris and Milan each year,” he enthuses.

Oman Air Economy Class
Oman Air Economy Class will be yet another way to earn and spend Qantas Points.

Across the Qantas and Jetstar network, Oman Air links up in cities including Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and Phuket. If you make your way there with other carriers, you can also book Oman Air out of Kuala Lumpur. Over in Europe, you can connect to cities such as London, Paris, Milan, Istanbul and more.

How to book Oman Air with Qantas Points

Oman Air Economy and Business reward seats show up natively on the Qantas website and multi-city booking tool. As expected, the airline sits on the ‘partner’ reward table. Here are a few examples of what you could pay.

Kuala Lumpur is likely the most convenient connecting point for most travellers starting in Australia. You could tack on a Malaysia Airlines reward seat to the same booking. Alternatively, a few low-cost carriers fly between Australia and Kuala Lumpur.

Bangkok is another alternative if you’d rather avoid the Boeing 737 from Kuala Lumpur and enjoy lie-flat Business Class on the Boeing 787 instead.

Carrier charges appear to be around ~A$101 per person, per flight in Business Class. In the example above, you would pay a total of MYR 907 or ~A$313 in fees and charges for a Business Reward from Kuala Lumpur to London. That’s quite reasonable compared to other airlines.

Oman Air doesn’t fly to Australia, so it’s going to be a two-stop trip if you’re going via Asia and Muscat to Europe. But by all reports, Oman Air is an underrated airline with excellent service across the board, so they’re definitely worth considering if you’ve got the time and the points.
