This is a quite phenomenal deal from the Hong Kong carrier, with wide availability of cheap fares to China until August next year (including the Chinese summer) on this quality, full-service airline.
When you do your search, you may find that there are cheaper options with lower-cost airlines such as AirAsia, China Southern or China Eastern. The reason we have highlighted the Cathay Pacific fares is that most layovers in Hong Kong are under 90 minutes (due to their high frequency of flights to and from Australia), they include checked baggage, and have Qantas Frequent Flyer points earning opportunities.

I booked my fare today to Shanghai from Perth.
Can you tell me if Qantas points & status credits will be earnt on these cheap booking class “S”
I have searched briefly online but cant dig up an answer. It states 25% Asia miles but on Qantas sight doesn’t distinguish what this booking class will earn you? On the calculator and partner Airlines chart it says… But I’m sceptical as I once got a cheap/special Malaysia airlines flight from Bali-KL-BKK really cheap and it didn’t credit anything except zeros on my Qantas activity statement.
Cheers
