The Woolworths Qantas card is one of my go-to cards for when I can’t put spend on my American Express, and is one of the few Qantas cards on the market that offer 1 point per $ on non-Amex spend
The current signup bonus is 16,000 Qantas points for the $89 annual fee, which is an offer that’s been around since February. It briefly went up to 20,000 points for a few weeks last month, which unfortunately I missed writing about – sorry, I’ll do better next time!
There’s a few downsides to banking with Woolworths with this card – the customer service and online account management is a bit limiting, and the late payment fees and associated interest are both very non-negotiable and steep – learnt from a past mistake, trust me.
This card also has a 3% foreign transaction fee for any non Australian dollar transactions, which is par for the course but it is possible to do better.
For 1:1 Qantas point cards, you’d also be worth considering the HSBC Qantas Platinum Visa, which currently has 20,000 points for $199 annual fee and comes with more bank-like levels of customer service.
Find out more, or apply, here. The offer is open for applications until 31st August.
