A quick update on the two main software players out there for tracking points and miles, AwardWallet and points.com
Awardwallet
I’m a massive fan of AwardWallet and they’ve just announced they have regained the ability to track American Airlines AAdvantage miles, which was taken offline after American complained. They’ve now been through some security verification and AAdvantage mile tracking is back online.
Regardless, Awardwallet is an excellent, fully featured service for tracking all kinds of loyalty programs – airlines, hotels, shopping, credit cards – and their recently improved mobile app is handy for keeping on top of changes in your accounts.
You can sign up at awardwallet.com and the first 10 people to use the upgrade coupon ‘free-lwtgxi’ will gain an account upgrade for free to the Awardwallet Plus level which included tracking point expiration dates.
Points.com
Points.com is another major player in this market, and has been around for quite a while. It’s not that useful for keeping track of a wide variety of accounts in the way AwardWallet is, however Points.com offers a bunch of unique features such as between program exchanges (generally not great value, but useful if you want to close down an account not lose any points), converting points into cash via Paypal, and also powers many of the purchase points out there, including US Airways (and their current 100% bonus promotion), Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America, InterContinental Rewards, Hyatt Gold Passport, and Starwood Preferred Guest.
Points.com are currently promoting a 1 million mile/point competition for new signups, so if you’re not already a member, you might as well sign up now and then at least you’re eligible for this competition. Otherwise, I don’t frequently find points.com that useful, but it’s a service worth being aware of in your point management armoury.

Is the awards wallet refer link still valid? I am about to join and would love to use the refer code.
