IHG One Rewards members will be able to earn and redeem points across over 400 more handpicked hotels, as part of its partnership with travel club and boutique hotel specialist Mr & Mrs Smith.
The partnership kicked off 29 October with a limited selection available for booking. More properties will be added weekly with the full catalogue due to go online by early December.
As well as earning and redeeming loyalty points for their stays, IHG One Rewards members can expect great extras on arrival at each Mr & Mrs Smith hotel.
Elite IHG One Rewards members will receive a 10-100% points bonus on room rates according to their tiers. InterContinental Ambassadors and higher will receive a complimentary room upgrade (where available) and a gift.
Mr & Mrs Smith is exactly the right partner for us – they too are hotel lovers who shaped the industry. Together our portfolio of luxury and lifestyle hotels now stretches from Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spa, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Hotel Indigo through to some of the special independent and small boutique hotels in the world.
We look forward to helping IHG One Rewards members write their next travel stories.”

What new Mr & Mrs Smith hotels can I book?
From 29 October 2020, a select group of over 400 properties will be available to book through the IHG website and mobile app. These include unique places like The Retreat at Blue Lagoon in Iceland and Oltrarno Splendid in Florence, Italy.
Within Australia, IHG members will find two new properties, both located in Tasmania — the Piermont Retreat in Swansea, and the Thousand Lakes Lodge in the Central Highlands.
The other properties are scattered all across the globe. With this new partnership, IHG will now have a presence in 11 new countries:
- Barbados
- Belize
- Croatia
- Iceland
- Morocco
- Mozambique
- Myanmar
- Saint Kitts and Nevis
- Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
- Sri Lanka
- Sweden
The number of points you can earn per stay will remain in line with the existing IHG One Rewards program, depending on your member tier. See the IHG website to see the number of points needed to redeem a stay.
Summing up
While this new partnership won’t affect most of our Australian readers right now (except for the lucky ones who live or can travel to Tasmania), IHG’s partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith is a positive one.
Members will have more boutique hotel options for their next booking, which will certainly be tempting to book once everyone is able to get out and about again. Just short of a reward? See our guide to the latest deals with buying IHG points.
