The American Express Experiences (used to be American Express Invites) program offers reserved seating and pre-sale tickets to concerts such as Taylor Swift and The Eagles, as well as special dining experiences and access to exclusive lounges before shows.
In this guide, we take a quick look at the American Express Invites Lounges in Sydney and Brisbane.
First, the nitty gritty
- To gain entry, simply show your American Express card at the door
- Each cardholder may invite up to three guests into the lounge
- All lounges are open from the time the main venue doors open until the start of the main act
- Entry is subject to capacity and granted on a first-come, first-served basis
What you get
The lounges are designed as a place to relax before a show, with waiter service offering a range of food and beverages for purchase, delivered to your table.
Basically, you can chill out and meet friends or family in a quieter space instead of the lobby or your seat until the show starts, and you can pay for something to eat or drink.
Lounge locations
There are currently three lounges, with more planned.
ICC Sydney Theatre (Sydney)
The newest addition to the network, this lounge on Level 4 will open on 1 December 2017.
It looks like it has beautiful views of Sydney CBD’s west side, although you’re probably more likely to see the buildings’ lights before evening performances rather than this official pic taken during the day.
This venue has replaced the former Sydney Entertainment Centre and the Qantas Credit Union Arena in the same precinct.
Qudos Bank Arena (Sydney)
This lounge is located on Level 1 opposite Door 39.
This venue has been previously named the Sydney Super Dome, Acer Arena and Allphones Arena.
Brisbane Entertainment Centre (Brisbane)
This lounge is located on Level 2 near Door 6.
Summing up
This is a great benefit for American Express cardholders, allowing them to relax and catch up with friends and family before the start of a show at select venues.
