Should you booking direct or through an online travel agent?
If you book directly through the One&Only Resorts website, you can earn points with a number of popular frequent flyer programs, including Qantas, Velocity and KrisFlyer.
Comparatively, if you book through an online travel agent (OTA) such as Expedia or Hotels.com, you’ll earn points with their own rewards program as well as cashback if you are a Cashrewards member.
Here’s a list of points earn rates for One&Only Resorts:

British Airways Executive Club | 2 Avios per USD spent |
Emirates Skywards | 1 mile per USD spent |
Etihad Guest | 1 mile per USD spent |
KrisFlyer | 1 mile per USD spent |
Qantas | 1 point per USD spent |
Velocity | 3 points per AUD spent at Hayman Island; 1000 per stay overseas; no earn at Wolgan Valley |

Hotels.com and Cashrewards | 5.5% cashback + Hotels.com booking credit |
Kaligo | Varies depending on hotel and price |
Our take
It all comes down to price. If prices are comparable and you are loyal to a particular frequent flyer program, then it may make sense to book direct and earn points in that program.
However it’s worth remembering you can score night credits or points from OTA programs from the likes of Hotels.com or Expedia. Start by reading our guide to how to earn cashback with Cashrewards and booking through an OTA.
The Emirates Wolgan Valley experience is pretty vast, so we have broken our experiences into several articles.

I agree its one of the best resorts I’ve stayed at. Qantas hotels does a sale 1-2x per year where it’s more discounted. I did a 3 nights stay in January for $3800 for the Mrs and I, all inclusive.
