Etihad Guest is a fairly handy points program to understand given the ability to redeem points on fairly well-priced flights on Etihad to Abu Dhabi, Europe and Asia.
The program is a partner with American Express Membership Rewards, meaning any Etihad points you earn can be topped up from your Membership Rewards account (if you have one).
Heinemann Duty Free now operate the duty free shopping in Sydney and have inked a partnership with Etihad to offer 1 Etihad Guest mile per Euro spent, and double miles are on offer until May 31st.
Given there’s no other alternative to choose from, these are additional points which you basically shouldn’t turn down, if you happen to be shopping at any of Heinemann’s duty free outlets which are fairly numerous at airports around the globe.
You’ll need to show your Etihad Guest card when you shop, and in Sydney, you’ll earn miles at the main Heinemann branded shops, along with National Geographic and ‘A Little Something’.
Note that you won’t earn miles on, and I quote, ‘duty-paid tobacco products, refundable-deposit beverages, press items and books.’
If you’re a duty free fiend, maybe this might work to earn you a few extra miles.
