The G’day Parks and Discovery Parks network of caravan parks, campsites and holiday accommodation is the largest of its kind in Australia. Boasting over 280 properties from coast to coast, guests have a diverse choice of beachside stays, mountain getaways, city breaks and more. And if you want to get the most out of your next escape – and enjoy perks on future holidays – you’ll be a happy camper with the G’day Rewards loyalty program.

Here’s everything you need to know about the program, plus how to earn Velocity Points or Flybuys points from your stay.

What is G’day Rewards?

G’day Rewards is the loyalty program of the G’day Parks and Discovery Parks network in Australia. These two brands are owned by the same group and form Australia’s biggest network of independently-owned caravan and holiday parks. A G’day Rewards membership allows you to track your stays, and unlock benefits when you book directly at any of the properties.

What are the benefits of being a G’day Rewards member?

Aside from ‘mates rates’ at over 280 accommodation options across Australia, all G’day Rewards members receive access to exclusive partner deals and member-only offers, plus access to the free digital G’day Magazine.

There are a host of additional in-park benefits too, depending on your tier. We break down the three tiers of the G’day Rewards program below.

Mate

This is the program’s entry-level tier. Upon joining, you can take advantage of a 10% discount on bookings, capped at $50. Once per year, you can select from early check-in, late check-out or a bag of ice to be added to a booking. And to help you get more out of your stay, you’ll also receive one free park equipment hire per year.

Great Mate

Once you’ve accumulated a total of 10 nights over a 12-month period or completed three separate stays, you’ll progress to the second tier of the G’day Rewards program – Great Mate. Enjoy a 10% discount on bookings, capped at $50, plus your choice of early check-in, late check-out or a bag of ice per stay, instead of per year. And there’s also an increase in the number of free park equipment hires per year – a total of three. This tier also unlocks one free upgrade per year to make your next getaway spectacular.

Best Mate

After a total of 20 nights over a 12-month period, or six separate stays, you’ll unlock the program’s highest tier – Best Mate. Enjoy all the perks of the previous two years, but amplified. For starters, you’ll receive an uncapped 10% discount, as well as early check-in, late check-out and a free bag of ice with each and every stay. You’ll also receive six free park equipment hires per year, as well as two free upgrades per year. And once you unlock the Best Mate tier, you’ll even receive one extra night per year – not a bad way to stretch your membership fee at all.

How much is a G’day Rewards membership?

A two-year membership to the G’day Rewards program will set you back $50. Seniors enjoy a 20% discount, with a two-year membership priced at $40.

Bear in mind that many of the program’s benefits are awarded per year, and the membership fee covers a two-year period – so you can easily offset the cost of the program in this timeframe. The same goes for discounts. The program’s first two tiers cap the 10% discount at $50, and depending on the cost of your accommodation, you could essentially cover the membership fee with just one stay.

How do I redeem my G’day Rewards benefits?

Redeeming your G’day Rewards membership benefits is easy. When booking online or over the phone, simply place a request for early check-in, late check-out or a free bag of ice. Before your stay, get in touch with the property to re-confirm your request, particularly if you’re looking forward to checking in early.

If your membership tier entitles you to a free night or free upgrade, you’ll need to request this at the time of booking, too.

Free equipment hire can be organised at the park, and is subject to availability.

How do I become a G’day Rewards member?

To join the G’day Rewards program, simply sign-up online or download the G’day Rewards app. As this is a paid loyalty program, you’ll need to complete payment when you sign-up.

You can access your digital membership card via the G’day Rewards app. Alternatively, you’ll receive an email upon joining that contains your membership number, which can be quoted when booking over the phone.

How do I maximise my rewards?

G’day Rewards partners with a number of shopping, automotive and holiday providers. And if you’re looking to double up on rewards – and earn points towards other programs from your accommodation bookings – we’ve highlighted some top tips below.

Earn Velocity Points at G’day Parks and Discovery Parks

Thanks to G’day Parks’ and Discovery Parks’ partnership with the Velocity Frequent Flyer program, you can collect Velocity Points when you book an eligible stay across the brands’ network – and you don’t need to be a G’day Rewards member.

You’ll earn two Velocity Points per $1 when you make a booking via the G’Day Parks website, Discovery Parks website or the G’day Rewards app and enter your Velocity Frequent Flyer number during the checkout process. You’ll need to book direct, as bookings made through third-party providers like Booking.com won’t award you with Velocity Points (or count towards your total stays!) This earn rate applies to bookings made without a G’day Rewards membership.

But if you are a G’day Rewards member, you’ll earn a whopping four Velocity Points per $1 on bookings. For this one, ensure you’re logged into your G’day Rewards account when booking, then enter your Velocity Frequent Flyer number during checkout.

Given that the Velocity Frequent Flyer program is free to join, this tip can have you earning rewards when you next stay at a G’day Parks or Discovery Parks property at no extra cost.

Earn Flybuys points at G’day Parks and Discovery Parks

G’day Parks also has a partnership with Flybuys, allowing you to earn Flybuys points when you book at participating Discovery Parks or G’day Parks accommodation.

For non-G’day Rewards members, you’ll earn two Flybuys points per $1 by entering your Flybuys number during the checkout process. You’ll need to book online directly with G’day Parks, Discover Parks or via the G’day Rewards app – you won’t earn rewards when you book a property via a third party.

With a G’day Rewards membership, you’ll earn even more Flybuys points on eligible bookings – five Flybuys points per $1, to be exact. You must link your Flybuys account to your G’day Rewards account, then follow the prompts to enter your Flybuys number during checkout.

Pay for your booking using a points-earning credit card

A credit card that earns frequent flyer points can help you earn rewards from your everyday spend – whether you’re working towards a lofty goal like flying First Class with Emirates or seeking an affordable getaway to Nouméa.

But when you’ve got a holiday to book, the costs can certainly add up. And here’s where a points-earning credit card comes in handy. If you’ve applied and been approved for a new credit card that offers bonus points, paying for your accommodation using your card can help you reach the minimum spend requirement sooner. The American Express Velocity Business Card and Qantas Premier Platinum Card offer a generous stash of bonus points – perfect for topping up your balance in preparation for your next getaway.

Another benefit is that you may be covered by travel insurance when you book your accommodation with a credit card. Read our summary of credit cards in Australia that offer travel insurance.

Summing up

If you frequent these brands, the joining fee can offset the benefits you’ll receive with a two-year membership, particularly with the allure of free upgrades, free nights and late check-out. Plus, the ability to double-dip with Flybuys or Velocity Frequent Flyer means you can earn even more rewards on your next stay.
