When you are planning to buy furniture, it is worth looking at this partnership between Velocity Frequent Flyer and furniture retailer freedom. However, it is also important to compare this points-earning opportunity against other offers.
Velocity announced this partnership on 27 August 2019:
We’re really pleased to partner with freedom as we know our members will be excited to now earn Points when purchasing new furniture and homewares. This partnership will give our members even more ways to earn Points and get even closer to taking that well deserved holiday.
How many Velocity Points can I earn with freedom?
Customers who sign up to myfreedom, freedom’s loyalty program, and link their Velocity Frequent Flyer account can earn 1 Velocity Point per $1 spent when they shop with freedom in-store or online. That rate is doubled to 2 Velocity Points per $1 spent until 23 September 2019.
Members also receive a $100 freedom credit for every $2,000 spent, bonus points offers and other in-store perks.
Introductory bonus offer
In addition to the double points offer mentioned above, members will go into the draw to win 1 of 28 prizes of 100,000 Velocity Points when they join myfreedom and link their Velocity account by 23 September 2019.

Summing up: is this a good deal?
It is worth doing your research because you can often get a higher earn rate of up to 5 points per $ spent with other retailers, including but not limited to:
- Velocity or Qantas Points at Bed Bath N Table, Sheridan and west elm
- Velocity Points at Snooze
- Qantas Points with Fantastic Furniture and Forty Winks
However, should your dream furniture item be stocked only at Freedom, or you have managed to find a ‘too good to miss deal’, then having the ability to earn Velocity points is always welcome.
You can use the Bonus Points Finder Tool to compare points earn rates at 500+ retailers in Australia here.
